Would you like to spend a wonderful holiday in Lucca to visit its renowned monuments, among the most important of Tuscany ? Do not hesitate to call us for an offer!

Lucca is one of the many Italian towns surrounded by a wall, but perhaps it is the only town where the wall still completely encloses its centre.

The wall was built in the Middle Ages and it has helped the people of Lucca to preserve the town’s historical centre, saving it from various modern, urbanistic transformations.

Visitors can wander down the narrow alleys between the houses, and suddenly find themselves in front of the imposing Torre Guinigi, or the Doumo di San Martino which is one of the hundred churches in the town. They can choose to ride a bicycle along the road on top of the walls which stretches for 4km. around the town centre and from where it is possible to catch sight of the various monuments from a different angle.

The great composer Giacomo Puccini was born in Lucca. The Puccini Festival, held every year in the nearby town of Torre del Lago, is dedicated to him.

A visit to the town does not end with the historical centre because there are many interesting places to visit in the district of Lucca. The Lucchesi villas, summer homes of the rich Lucchesi families in the 16th century: Villa Torrigiani, Villa Reale and Villa Mansi to name just a few.

There are also the nearby seaside resorts of Versilia, such as Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Lido di Camaiore and Marina di Pietrasanta.
